vietnam war

“Vietnam War” has two main layers. The stripes on the left mimic the 13 stripes of the American flag which fuel the hand that grips the bleeding Vietnam flag. However, the stripes that come together to create a unified hand, or force, remaining a symbol of communism which also squeezes Vietnam, represented by their current flag. The violence of the scene encapsulates the three way conflict perfectly and the strength of the hand is intentionally vague: is it the hand of the United States, gripping a weeping country, or that of the united socialist movement, squeezing the life out of the Vietnamese people.
