korean war

“Korean War” represents the violence that came with American intervention in Korea, now South and North. The thirteen stripes of the flag, seen here in red and the negative black space, cut along the 17th parallel border that, from then on, separates North and South Korea. There are two stars, the one on the left is right side up and sits above the American soldier. The soldier is shooting a Korean civilian who is struck beneath an upside-down star, the blood being a distorted South Korean flag with the iconic center circle of red and blue.
