falsities of justice

IMG_0068.JPG

Moving from right to left, “Falsities of Justice” starts with stars representing both the stars of the American flag and the Hollywood stars. The stars are occupied by black victims of police brutality. The police officer is not acknowledging the victims, and the history, as he instead focuses on his next target: a man walking away, who has been stereotyped by the officer, only seen as violence and drugs, objectified to the stereotypes of the “typical Black American.” He is walking towards his child who waits in the future, the Black Lives Matter slogan with him, yet cut off. Prison bars are in his way, a nod to systemic incarceration, which also mimics the stripes of the American flag.
