I wanted my self-portrait to be looking down at all that was happening on the land. I added it with other instances of chaos and intersections between nature and technology. I also put what I believe the fate would be of those left behind in the water from Image 2. I added the people mocking God to show God seeing what is happening below too, and how people may have reacted to His creations’ actions. I also put myself at a distance from the sky to further talk about Arendt’s point of people wanting to bring humanity to the sky and disconnect it from the Earth. The solar eclipse is a symbol of renewal so maybe there is hope that we will be able to survive our destruction.
